An adaptive reuse of the St. George’s Church campus in Chicago’s East Side community, ARTemple is the conversion of the historic St. George’s Church into a wellness education and events center that will host community gatherings, art exhibits, and various classes and educational sessions. The church rectory building will be transformed into five residences for artists-in-residence, featuring living accommodations and studio spaces. The school building will be repurposed into classrooms for arts-based educational programming and maker spaces for various art disciplines.
