FitzGerald Associates provided full architectural services for these attractive flat-style apartments, designed as part of the University Village East master plan.

Prominently located along Halsted Street, the buildings feature walk-up access at the rear, a landscaped courtyard, and an off-street parking area. Units overlook the streetscape, offering private yards on the ground floor and balconies on the upper levels.

The University Village East project represents the final piece of a larger public-private development initiative on land surrounding the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) campus.  This project was designed in collaboration with UIC as part of its effort to transform from a commuter-focused institution to a fully residential university. Taking advantage of its near-downtown location and proximity to the historic Maxwell Street Market, the development creates a vibrant, mixed-use residential area well-suited for professionals, faculty, and postgraduate students, with a variety of housing options.
