Alexander Cardenas joins FitzGerald as an Associate, supporting project teams on multifamily and mixed-use developments. His experience includes large-scale housing and urban projects, where he has contributed across multiple phases of design and project documentation.

Prior to joining FitzGerald, Alexander worked with architecture firms in Chicago on residential and mixed-use developments. In these roles, he assisted with design development, drawing production, consultant coordination, and project documentation. He has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to help maintain alignment between architectural and engineering disciplines throughout the design process.

At FitzGerald, Alexander supports project teams through drawing development, coordination, and documentation as projects progress from design through construction.

Alexander earned a B.S. in Architectural Studies from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, with a minor in Construction Management, and is OSHA-certified.

Outside the office, he enjoys hands-on building and fabrication, having designed and built custom furniture and lighting fixtures. He also frequently works with his family on home improvement projects—experiences that deepen his appreciation for craftsmanship and the connection between design and construction.
